At first, I was told by friends that Indian Footprints is not an ideal place to live... But that was a few years ago and they've remodeled a lot of the apartments. After hearing from my friend how helpful the office staff was in helping them get into their apartment two years ago, my roommate and I decided to apply. They charge you an application fee and a holding fee right up front, which is fine. We were told that the holding fee would be refunded whether we got the apartment or not. We did get to look at the apartment we wanted, and though maybe a tad overpriced, it was pretty cute and had a reasonable amount of space, enough for me to overlook the price since it includes most utilities. Due to some unfortunate cercumstances, however, we needed a cosigner, which is totally understandable given our situation, and we were given three days. At the end of that time we told them we didn't have anyone who qualified nor did we want to submit yet another application fee but they continued to extend the deadline. While I appreciated at the time that they seemed to be trying to help, the only person who could have possibly qualified already lived in Indian Footprints and therefore could not cosign for us. I should note that we were unable to contact the office with the inquiry of whether or not this could be done by phone or email, my friend had to physically walk down to the office to ask. We moved on and found another place to live. No big deal.
This place really stays true to its historic start and is a great family apartment that would be amazing for maybe a family of
However, the issue came when my roommate emailed the office to ask how we might go about getting the holding fee returned (which again, we were told would be refunded either way), my roommate didn't hear back for a long time. I attempted to call on a couple occasions at different times during office hours but no one answered. We live about 45 minutes away so dropping by at random wasn't really possible. When we did finally hear back, my roommate received a response to her email stating that we had waited too long to claim our refund and so we would not receive it. It may not be a huge amount, but it's still bad practice to keep someone's money due to your staff's inability to reply in a timely manner.
Terribly overpriced. The apartments are of horrible quality, and the leasing office is very slow to fix things. They will, however, tow their tenants' cars if they "think" the car looks broken down. If you want to live somewhere nice, this is not the place.
It's a great relaxing area. Management is pretty good. The only downfall is the ridiculous rent price. 745 (due to when we got it?) Is a bit high for this apartment.
Why is it every time I come to the office no one is to be found? This is one of the many reasons I moved my family out!
[[EDIT: As anyone would be able to see in the response to this review, I did have my refund sent and they did attempt to call me when I was having phone troubles but they did send a refund check within a week or two of writing the original review. Thank you so much!! Changing my rating from 1 to 4 stars for the quick response on that one. Much appreciated!!]]
